The Galway Go Club and NUIG GoSoc are pleased to announce the FOURTH GALWAY GO TOURNAMENT at:
The Bridge Club
St Mary’s Road
Galway City
on 8-9 June 2013.
This is a 5 round McMahon tournament with 50min time limit, 20sec per move overtime (3 times) and 6.5 Komi. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. Everyone is welcome! Loads of prizes!

The Galway Go club will host a Go tournament the weekend of June 8th-9th. More details to follow shortly.
The IGA has announced that registration is now open for the 2013 Irish Go Congress, which will be held the first weekend in March. Full tournament details are available on their site.
The NUIG Go Soc announces that pictures of its recent underwater go and chess event are available for viewing on its newly created facebook page.
Last weekend saw the 6th annual UCC Go Club Tournament. In a pleasant break with tradition, there were no storms, floods, or blizzards to dampen spirits. The weather could nearly have been described as clement, if not for a spot of rain on the second day…
The venue was the Mardyke Pavilion, which was undoubtedly the best venue the tournament has seen to date. The shot below does not do it justice, although it does capture the colour coordinated chairs ^^ In the foyer, there were two go board cakes, a picture of which can be seen on the NUIG Go Soc’s latest post.
A total of 31 players took part this year; the largest ever turnout. A full table of results is available from the EGD.
It’s fair to say that the event was a resounding success. A big thanks to Justyna and the rest of the UCC Go Club committee for a job well done! It remains to be seen how they’re going to top this one next year.

UCC Go: There has been a change in our Sunday meetings – from now on we will be meeting in the Marlboro 32 pub (on Marlboro street obviously). They’re still be on from 4PM on as that’s when the pub opens! It’s a nice and quiet place on a Sunday afternoon.
Also, only one week until the tournament!
IGA: The previously announced IGA EGM will be held on Jan 26th, during the weekend of the Top 8 Kick-Off.
NUIG Go: November’s issue of Knight’s Atari is now online.
