Back in 2017, the first issue of Myosu was released. It was dubbed a Global Baduk Magazine by its creators. It ran for all of two issues. What was notable at the time was its origin – Myongji University’s Department of Baduk Studies. Over the years, the department offered degrees, masters, and even PhDs in Go.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the department itself now faces closure<\/a>. Speculation on L19<\/a> and the OGS forums<\/a> suggest a combination of economics, politics, and a failure to effectively communicate\/outreach.
